Gratitude for Women of Sonoma County

I had the best of intentions to write daily gratitude affirmations, and, alas, that didn't start in January of 2012, 2013, or 2014.  But, here I am, March 13, 2014, and I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the women of Sonoma County.  I just came home from a meeting with the Sonoma County Commission on the Status of Women where I requested support and sponsorship for a committee I am working on to encourage underrepresented individuals to apply for positions on boards, commissions, and committees, and to run for elected office.  Our committee is putting on a RUN (Rise Up Now) forum that will have motivational speakers as well as experiential exercises to guide citizens through the process of becoming more engaged in their communities, with an emphasis on women and members of the Latino population.  I am honored to be working with a group of dedicated, motivated women, and I am honored and grateful that the Sonoma County Women's Commission is comprised of similar dedicated, motivated women who are eager to help.  I feel very blessed, that despite all the battles that women across the world continue to battle, there is support and progress, especially in this beautiful area I call home.   Feeling blessed.
